Group Newborn & Breastfeeding Classes For Expectant Parents
- Sundays in October (4 weeks), 3 - 5pm, Nyack, NY
This is a very special time in your life. With the excitement and joy of expecting a new baby comes a profound time of navigating new experience and questioning what is "right" or "wrong". Asking yourself, "how do I do this" can be an overwhelming question. With these classes you can be sure you will learn basic baby care and breastfeeding technique that will help you get off to your very best start. Classes will include basic baby care, the physical and emotional aspects of being a new parent, helping you trust your instincts and find your personal style, exploring choices as new parents from diaper styles, baby wearing, how your baby sleeps, choosing a pediatrician, and thorough instruction on healthy initial breastfeeding technique. With dolls, tools, diapers and laughter we will go through what you can expect in those first few weeks - from the color of baby poop to waking every two hours to how to bathe your newborn.

Cesarean Healing Circle

The experience of a cesarean birth can stir up emotion for any new mother. Feelings of failure, conflict, hurt, or disappointment may shadow your ability to sink blissfully into new motherhood. If this resonates with you please join us for a day of healing and ritual to help you reframe what you may be holding on to as pain, hurt, trauma, or loss.
This workshop is an opportunity to speak your birth story in a safe and deeply felt way among others who have shared a similar experience and understand you! Bring a bag lunch or take the time to walk around Nyack and enjoy its offerings.

Mother Blossoming - A 4 Week Circle For New Mothers - Fall 2010 schedule TBD Enjoy the bonding and ritual of sitting in circle with other new mothers who walk the same path as you. Share birth stories, step into the sacred realm of motherhood together and form lasting friendships that will sustain you on your journey. Topics include infant massage, baby wearing, nurturing touch and attachment, learning to trust and strengthen your intuition to manifest a deep mother-child bond, balancing motherhood as a woman, lover, wife and independent being. La Leche League Meetings

In all of these classes and workshops, you’ll experience a multi-dimensional approach to childbirth education and parenting where together we build a mindset for coping, adapting and evolving towards motherhood. We’ll challenge your thinking and take you on a different path with the use of art supplies, refreshing dialog, the exchange of ideas, clay, vocalizing, video, moving, dancing, singing, journaling, ice, and much more.
